The Pilot
Dave Dacy was born and raised in Harvard, IL. After soloing in a Piper Cub when he was 16 years old, Dave was in the cockpit of a stock 220 H.P. Stearman teaching himself aerobatics by the age of 17.
While his days were spent working as a mechanic at Dacy Airport, his weekends were spent perfecting the skills that would someday lead him to be one of the most talented and well-respected pilots in the airshow industry.
In addition to the almost 30 years he has spent dazzling crowds across the United States, Dave has leant his talents to movies, commercials, and has even landed on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago as part of a promotion with the Field Museum.
Dave has performed airshows in stock 220 H.P. Stearmans, a modified 300 H.P. Stearman, a Bucker Jungmeister, and of course his current 500 H.P. SuperStearman!
The Wingwalker
Tony Kazian has been an extra passenger on Dave's wings for many years. A veteran of the airshow industry, Tony dazzles the crowd with his no ropes, no cables, no fear approach to wingwalking!
Whether he is hanging out on the javelin struts, sitting backwards on the wing rack, or doing handstands on the top wing at 160 m.p.h., Tony is more at home outside the cockpit of the SuperStearman than most of us are sitting in our living rooms. |
