In 1979, Dave bought a Stearman that was being used as a crop-duster and flew it back to Dacy Airport in the dead of winter. (I still remember him climbing out of the cockpit wearing a snowsuit - along with a bit of frost in his beard - when he got home.)

The blue and white Super Stearman has been highly modified for airshow performances. Some of its modifications include:

- 450 H.P. Pratt & Whittney radial engine (fuel injection brings its output to well over 500 H.P.)
- Inverted fuel and oil systems
- Four precision balanced ailerons
- High output smoke system
